What We Do
Travel to BelarusTravel to Belarus with us
We hope to provide opportunities to travel to Belarus with us in the near future. Currently the US Department of State has a “Do Not Travel” warning in place for Belarus due to the Russian war with Ukraine. Once this is lifted we will plan a trip! In the meantime, check out the “Frequently Asked Questions” section to the right to learn more about a potential trip.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does the itinerary look like?
Each trip changes based on interests of the participants. Activities will include humanitarian work, such as orphanage visits, sharing with English as a Second Language classes, construction work, children’s hospital visits, among others. There is also plenty of time to visit with Belarusian friends and experience their culture!
When do you travel?
This depends on the desired activities of those that participate. Construction trips would occur in late Spring or early Fall. A trip involving more indoor humanitarian activities would likely occur in winter.
How much does it cost?
Trip cost largely depends on flight costs, but you can plan on around $2,000 per person and includes flight, visa, travel/health insurance, and all in country activities.
Where do you stay?
Traditionally the trip visits Mogilev and/or Gomel, depending on desires of those traveling. We will arrange for you to stay with a local family so that you get the most out of your time in Belarus. If you know someone in Belarus you would like to stay with, we will do our best to accommodate those requests.
Are you exposed to radiation?
The areas that we visit are still affected by the radiation fallout from the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. The radiation exposure you receive during the approximately 10 day trip is roughly equal to receiving an x-ray. For the average healthy adult this is not an amount that would cause damage, however if you have any medical conditions we recommend you consult with your doctor before deciding to go.
Are there any COVID-19 restrictions?
All COVID-19 Belarus entry requirements have been lifted, regardless of vaccination status. If there are any requirements of the country we connect through, those will be provided once a trip is scheduled.
